Ashley Regional Medical Center Names 2024 Mercy Award Winner
May 13, 2024
VERNAL, UT (May 13, 2024) – Ashley Regional Medical Center recently announced that Alice Arabie, Patient Access Supervisor, has been recognized as the facility’s 2024 Mercy Award winner. The Mercy Award recognizes one employee from each of Lifepoint Health’s facilities who profoundly touches the lives of others and best represents the spirit and values on which the company was founded.
Established in 2001, the Mercy Award is an annual recognition program that honors the life and contributions of Scott Mercy, Lifepoint’s founding chairman and chief executive officer. The award is considered the highest honor a Lifepoint employee can receive.
“At Ashley Regional, we are committed to advancing Lifepoint’s mission of making communities healthier, and our devoted team members are critical to this work – especially Alice,” said Alan Olive, CEO of Ashley Regional Medical Center. “We are so proud to recognize her positive contributions to improving the overall health of our patients, supporting their families, and serving our community. Alice always goes the extra mile to meet any need that may arise and is a true champion of our caring culture at Ashley Regional.”
Alice is the epitome of the hospital’s core values: champion patient care, do the right thing, embrace individuality, act with kindness and make a difference together. Her patient-first mindset shines through daily as she interacts with patients and their families. Alice’s positive attitude and financial knowledge provide patients, staff, physicians and community members excellent customer service. She will go above and beyond to ensure each person receives accurate information, whether it’s about a bill, their insurance coverage or registration. Alice is a great advocate for patients – fighting for their rights to be heard, cared for and served with dignity and respect. Her vast knowledge and compassion have helped countless patients better understand their insurance and resolve problems.
Outside of the office, Alice shares her time representing Ashley Regional Medical Center at events as part of the hospital’s Ambassador team. She is outgoing, friendly and offers a smile to everyone she meets. Her authenticity is magnetic, drawing people into fun and informative conversations. She brings out the best in people and makes them feel comfortable sharing their experience with the hospital. Alice shines at Ashley Regional and within the community she adores.
Alice is also passionate about caring for her family and her community. In 2006, tragedy hit her family when her brother was killed in the line of duty in Afghanistan. Since then, she has been active with the Gold Star Family services, finding healing while also helping others. Alice and her husband also served as youth pastors for a decade. During that time, they provided support for 25 youth that involved service learning, activities and fundraising projects. Giving of herself in this way was beneficial to helping her heal from the loss of her brother. Alice cares deeply about her family, patients and the community, which becomes apparent the moment you meet her.
Each facility winner, including Alice, will be considered for Lifepoint’s 2024 companywide Mercy Award. The companywide winner will be announced this summer and honored during a ceremony in Nashville, Tenn., in August.
